Sail Training Commitment

Sail Training is committed to ensuring there are no barriers for our clients, employees and volunteers from thriving, feeling included and having their voices heard. Everyone deserves to be treated fairly through a culture of inclusion. This is vital to success both on and off the water.

This applies to all Sail Training employees and anyone working on behalf of us.

Inclusion

We support an environment were everyone will feel included regardless of gender, race, age, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability.

Diversity

We respect and understand that everyone is different. Diversity is a spectrum of differences and we strongly believe that diversity must be respected and appreciated.

Everybody is welcome, everybody is valued and we do not permit discrimination.

Equity

We appreciate that every individual’s needs are different. That each individual’s need differs in order to succeed and thrive, and we intend to ensure that everyone is supported to reach their full potential.

Zero tolerance of discrimination, harassment and bullying

We do not tolerate any form of discrimination, harassment or bullying. As such we will not accept any form of these across Sail Training, from any member of our staff to anyone conducting work on behalf of Sail Training nor from our clients.

We aim to create an environment which values individuals equally, and where people can be free to be themselves.

Acknowledgement of Country

Sail Training thanks the First Peoples of the Northwest and we recognize that we are operating on Lummi, Semiahmoo, and Samish lands and waters. We acknowledge the traditional caretakers and custodians of the land and waters and pay our respects to them. The accomplishments of the First Peoples of the Northwest are a source of pride and inspiration to us all. We encourage you to learn more about the First Peoples of the Northwest and their history.
